Section 508 Compliance Statement
Enhancements to SPS have been made to comply with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act Amendment of 1998 for Americans with Disabilities (ADA) to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided comparable access or the same degree of accessibility to all software information and data as individuals without disabilities.
The Secure Payment System (SPS) consists of two versions:
SPS online and SPS offline. The SPS online software is a Java, web-based application that utilizes internet technology. The SPS offline is also Java based but only includes the Date Entry Operator (DEO) functions of the online system. The SPS user interface has been designed to follow 508 requirements when used in conjunction with specific assistive technology software.
The testing conducted utilized the JAWS (Job Access with Speech) v5.0 for Windows assistive technology product from Henter-Joyce, a division of Freedom Scientific.
Formal reports were provided with specific 508 deficiencies identified. These items were reviewed and prioritized for possible enhancements in future releases.
The Bureau of the Fiscal Service does not provide technical support for assistive technology software and does not endorse any specific assistive technology software.
