History of Navy Cash Cards

Navy Cash original card

This version of the Navy Cash card was first issued during the program’s inception in 2003. It was in use until a card rebranding and consolidation took place in 2017.

Marine Cash version

The Marine Cash card is a USMC-branded version of the Navy Cash card. It was issued to Marines that deployed aboard Navy ships. These cards were also replaced by the rebranded Navy Cash cards in 2017. The U.S. Department of the Treasury maintains the IP rights of this card brand and reserves the right to reinstate it at a later date in partnership with the U.S. Marine Corps.

Navy Cash update

This version of the Navy Cash card was first issued in 2017. It replaced the original versions of the card. These cards are still in use; they are gradually being replaced, ship-by-ship, as the program converts to one interoperable stored value card solution across the entire U.S. Armed Forces footprint – the EagleCash card (see below).

Current EagleCash EMV Card

EagleCash is the new brand name for all stored value cards across the operating footprint. EagleCash cards will be used aboard U.S. Navy ships, and at domestic basic training installations and overseas land bases. This card will result in one interoperable solution across all environments, lower program costs, and an enhanced cardholder experience. Cards issued aboard Navy ships will display an anchor in the upper left-hand corner.
