Gold Book

The Gold Book is the Check Reclamation Guide. Check reclamation is a recovery procedure used by the Fiscal Service to obtain refunds (reclamations) from a financial institution for paid U.S. Treasury checks.

All U.S. Treasury checks, regardless of the payment type, are subject to check reclamation procedures.

The Request for Refund (Check Reclamation) has been renamed the Notice of Direct Debit (U.S. Treasury Check Reclamation). The Request for Refund (Check Reclamation) was sent to financial institutions for reclamations initiated prior to October 19, 2011.
